Food

OK kids, I have an 8+ pound brisket defrosting in my 'fridge. Any suggestions on what I should do with it? (Keep it clean, please!).

BTW, the short ribs rocked. Because of all the drama and trauma in my life, I ended up having to take care of them quickly. I just plopped them in the slow cooker with an envelope of onion soup, a little (1/4 cup?) water and a couple handfuls of whatever Penzeys stuff I picked out of the pantry. They were super.

Oh, and I'm in Nirvana. MY new Sam's Club opened yesterday. Matthew and I went for a free dinner (all the samples) and it only ended up costing me $118! What a deal! Have I mentioned I LOVE Sam's Club? And, its right on my way home every night, on the RIGHT side of the road. This is better than Christmas!

Now, about that brisket.......

Berisket has lotsa fat. I'd slow cook the fat out of it in a nesco then finish it off on the grill with BBQ sauce, or you could Slow cook, chill, slice thin and re heat with Gravy for hot Beef sandwiches..........

Yeah, the brisket had TONS of fat. I was a little disappointed. I knew it had a huge fat layer on the top and scraped that off before I sliced it (I slow cooked it on indirect heat on the gas grill). But, when I sliced it, it had a thick layer of fat running right through the middle. It was more of a pain to trim it that it was worth, in my opinion. Maybe I got a bad one?
